VIDEO: Professional diversity creates opportunity for education at HRS
SAN FRANCISCO — In this video, George F. Van Hare, MD, FHRS, CCDS, CEPS, pediatric cardiologist and electrophysiologist at St. Louis Children’s Hospital and first vice president of the Heart Rhythm Society, discusses the importance of diversity of training and expertise among professionals at the HRS Annual Scientific Sessions.
According to Van Hare, who served as program chair for this year’s Heart Rhythm Society Annual Scientific Sessions, the variety of clinicians and scientists attending the meeting allows for great opportunity to learn from and teach one another.
“We really encourage people to get out of their tracks from time to time and go to some sessions that they don’t know anything about so they have the opportunity to learn from other experts in a field that may not be directly in their area of expertise,” Van Hare said. “This is really the way science advances and this is one of the great places for that to actually happen.”
