VIDEO: Advances in endovascular therapies featured at ISET

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. — The annual International Symposium on Endovascular Therapy brings together experts around the world to share together in the latest advances in endovascular therapy. In this video, Jihad A. Mustapha, MD, offers a look at recent important developments in peripheral vascular disease, particularly critical limb ischemia.

One trial in this area presented at ISET 2016 is the LIBERTY trial. The study is designed to evaluate acute and long-term clinical and economic outcomes of endovascular procedures (Cardiovascular Systems Inc.) for the treatment of peripheral artery disease. Mustapha, an interventional cardiologist at Metro Health Hospital in Wyoming, Michigan, presented data on the demographic aspects of this trial.

Trials like this, and others, “help significantly for those coming to learn [about] the latest for their patients,” he said.
