The Workgroup for Electronic Data Interchange is holding a summit to develop an “industry action plan” for those affected by the delay of ICD-10 implementation.

In partnership with the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society, the Professional Association of Health Care Office Management and the American Academy of Professional Coders, the group is convening in Reston, Va. today to solicit feedback from those affected.

Topics to be discussed include background information; factors which may have driven the change; and an attempt to identify the impact, including unintended consequences of the delay, during the morning sessions. In the afternoon sessions, the groups will seek to develop a forward-looking plan for all involved.
