Joseph Wu, MD, PhD, associate professor of cardiovascular medicine and radiology, and Robert Harrington, MD, professor and chair of medicine, both at Stanford School of Medicine, were appointed co-directors of the Stanford Cardiovascular Institute, a center for research and advancements in clinical care for patients with CVD.

A graduate of Yale School of Medicine, Wu came to Stanford University in 2004. His research lab has a special focus on stem cell biology, gene therapy, genomics and molecular imaging. Harrington is an interventional cardiologist and clinical trial investigator who came to Stanford School of Medicine from Duke Clinical Research Institute, according to information on the school’s website.
