Loyola University Health system recently launched a new preventive cardiology and lipid management program with the goal of spreading awareness and preventing MI and other cardiac- and cholesterol-related health problems.

Patients in the program will be screened for risk factors and then provided with information about how to take further preventive measures. Some factors may include monitoring cholesterol and BP levels, managing weight and smoking cessation. Physicians will be prepared to advise patients about prescriptions, diet plans, therapy and counseling programs, as needed.
