From 2009 to 2017, the proportion of teens who identified as a sexual minority nearly doubled to more than 14%, according to researchers, who found that these teens are still more than three times as likely to attempt suicide compared with heterosexual youths.

Sexual minority adolescents were consistently more likely to report physical and/or sexual violence compared with heterosexuals, according to a national survey of nearly 30,000 adolescents.

Measures taken by the Society for Investigative Dermatology to improve gender inequality and the underrepresentation of minorities have been successful within leadership and its awards, according to researchers in Journal of Investigative Dermatology.
