The FDA has expanded the approval for Nerivio, a wearable remote electrical neuromodulation device controlled by a smartphone app, to treat chronic migraine in adults aged 18 years and older.

A study presented at this year’s virtual PAINWeek meeting further demonstrated the safety and efficacy of remote electrical neuromodulation in reliving chronic migraine pain.

A host of new migraine-specific therapies were reviewed during this year’s American Headache Society Annual Scientific Meeting. The treatments that are receiving the most attention are those that target calcitonin gene-related peptide.
