NATIONAL HARBOR, Md. — An investigational anti-CD73 antibody appeared safe and demonstrated promising antitumor activity among patients with advanced cancers, according to phase 1/1b trial data presented at Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer Annual Meeting.

Biotech firm Phio Pharmaceuticals announced it has entered into a research collaboration with Helmholtz Zentrum München, the German Research Center for Environmental Health, to develop T cell and natural killer cell adoptive cell therapies for the treatment of solid tumors.

Adults with type 2 diabetes have lower natural killer cell activity compared with those with normal glucose tolerance or prediabetes, according to findings published in the Journal of Diabetes Investigation.
