Lois Hill, MS, RDN, LD, LDE, dietician nutritionist and educator, was honored with the Joel D. Kopple Award at the National Kidney Foundation Spring Clinical Meetings, according to a press release.

At the National Kidney Foundation Spring Clinical Meetings, the NKF will honor Jeanetta Wammack, RN, CDN, with the Carol Mattix Award for her work with kidney disease and patients with kidney failure.

Maria Elena Grijalva, a kidney patient advocate, was honored with the Celeste Castillo Lee Patient Engagement Award by the National Kidney Foundation at the NKF Spring Clinical Meetings, according to a press release.

Rajnish Mehrotra, MD, MS, will receive the Dr. J. Michael Lazarus Distinguished Award for his contributions to the care of people living with kidney disease at the National Kidney Foundations Spring Clinical Meetings.

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Advocacy groups succeeded at placing kidney disease front-and-center on the roadmap to legislative support in Washington, but more improvements are needed, according to presenters at the Southwest Nephrology Conference.
