Last week, April 20th, was my 64th birthday.

For 3 days last week, both of our junior fellows have been attending the annual American Association of Clinical Endocrinology Endocrine University educational program.

This January marks 1 year since the death of my friend Dr. Daniel Duick, making January a very sad month for me.

Earlier in the week, I was contacted by Ellen Dran, mother of the late Dr. Sarah Hallberg. For those who may not know her, Sarah was a champion of medicine and of life.

After finishing rounding at Sparrow Hospital this afternoon, our junior endocrine fellow Palak Kachhadia, MD, and I approached the lobby and saw Kairo Noronha performing on the grand piano by the hospital’s cafeteria.
