Manuka honey may represent an alternative natural approach to reducing tumor growth in breast cancer, according to research conducted at UCLA Health Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Combining manuka honey and the antibiotic amikacin in a lab-based nebulization formulation was effective for inhibiting Mycobacterium abscessus and drug-resistant clinical isolates in patients with cystic fibrosis or bronchiectasis.

Honey may be more effective than usual care for symptoms of upper respiratory tract infection, or URTI, according to research published in BMJ Evidence-Based Medicine.
