In patients with asymptomatic severe carotid stenosis requiring intervention, there was no difference in 5-year stroke risk between those assigned carotid artery stenting and those assigned carotid endarterectomy.

As a rarer form of pulmonary hypertension, chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension, or CTEPH, often receives less attention than other pulmonary vascular diseases. However, it remains the only type of PH that may be cured by surgery.

Patient-reported outcomes significantly improved after pulmonary endarterectomy in patients with chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension, or CTEPH, according to results published in the European Respiratory Journal.
