Eltrombopag

SAN DIEGO — Eltrombopag conferred a higher rate of durable platelet response in the absence of rescue treatments than standard first-line treatments for children with newly diagnosed immune thrombocytopenia, according to study results.

Eltrombopag increased response rates when added to standard immunosuppressive therapy among patients with transplant-ineligible severe aplastic anemia, according to phase 3 study results published in The New England Journal of Medicine.

The addition of eltrombopag to standard immunosuppressive therapy appeared safe and increased response rates among transplant-ineligible patients with severe aplastic anemia, according to results of the randomized phase 3 RACE trial.
