WASHINGTON — Traditional glaucoma surgery will result in endothelial cell loss, but surgeons can be aware of potential risk factors and take steps to help limit the amount of loss, a speaker said here.

WASHINGTON — Patients undergoing Ahmed glaucoma valve implantation who received intraoperative and postoperative mitomycin C experienced better IOP control and required fewer glaucoma drops for up to 12 months after surgery, according to a speaker here.

The Ahmed ClearPath glaucoma drainage device has been commercially launched in the United States, New World Medical announced in a press release.
