Metformin improves pregnancy rate among women with PCOS, overweight
Women with polycystic ovary syndrome and overweight or obesity who underwent fertility treatment had a higher clinical pregnancy rate when assigned metformin vs. similar women not taking the medication, according to a meta-analysis.
Younger women with PCOS at elevated risk for CVD
Women younger than 50 years with polycystic ovary syndrome were at elevated risk for CVD compared with younger women without it, according to a research letter published in the European Journal of Preventive Cardiology.

Women with polycystic ovary syndrome are more likely to have an eating or sleeping disorder and report decreased sexual satisfaction than those without PCOS, according to a meta-analysis of studies published in Clinical Endocrinology.
Severe obesity increases likelihood of PCOS, metabolic syndrome
Approximately 1 in 4 Swedish women with severe obesity has polycystic ovary syndrome and more than 40% have metabolic syndrome, although women with and without PCOS had comparable body composition measurements and experienced similar weight loss during a dietary intervention, according to findings published in Clinical Endocrinology.
