“Choosing the right hospital to match your needs shouldn't be a guessing game,” Ben Harder, chief of health analysis and managing editor at U.S. News, said in the press release. “The 2024-2025 edition of Best Hospitals provides patients and their families clear,

data-driven insights on hospital performance and empowers Americans to choose the facility best suited to their specific health care needs.”

New this year, U.S. News and World Report identified the top regional hospitals for equitable access, highlighting 98 hospitals that care for patients in underserved communities, according to the release. In addition, now in the 35th year, the 2024-2025 Best Hospitals rankings now include Medicare Advantage data, the introduction of outpatient outcomes in specialty and surgical ratings, refinement of logics identifying interhospital transfers, a combined gynecological cancer surgery rating, and more.

“Similar to other U.S. News specialty rankings, Best Hospitals in Obstetrics and Gynecology highlights 50 hospitals capable of treating patients with some of the most challenging gynecological conditions, such as metastatic gynecological cancers,” Harder told Healio. “These hospitals tend to be magnets for high-acuity referral care and have a track record of achieving good outcomes for older, medically complex patients. Each of these hospitals also provides obstetric care, either onsite or at an affiliated campus nearby; U.S. News evaluates obstetrical services under the aegis of Best Hospitals for Maternity Care.”
