PHILADELPHIA — In this video exclusive, Cynthia A. Stuenkel, MD, MSCP, talks about selecting therapies for menopausal symptoms for women with a history of cardiovascular disease.
Stuenkel is a clinical professor in the department of medicine at the University of California, San Diego.
CVD is on the rise among women and at younger ages and increases with menopause. This makes risk stratification increasingly important when choosing therapies for menopausal symptoms, according to Stuenkel. She recommends seeking objective measures of risk such as a coronary artery calcium score.
