ANAHEIM, Calif. — In this video exclusive, Marina Sirota, PhD, discusses her work using molecular and clinical data to help predict risks for adverse pregnancy outcomes.

Sirota, assistant professor at the Bakar Computational Health Sciences Institute at UCSF, and colleagues are using gene expression data to identify biomarkers and to repurpose existing drugs as therapeutic options for preterm birth, among other projects.

“Our goals are to bring these important questions to the computational researchers to make them aware of the type of data that’s available,” Sirota told Healio.
