Healio’s editorial team is covering the latest research presented at the ASRM Scientific Congress & Expo in Baltimore, Oct. 17-20, with reports on key presentations, interviews with top experts and more.
Dubbed “Reproduction Reimagined,” the 77th annual meeting includes symposia, roundtables, keynotes, plenary sessions and interactive sessions, with select events available on demand online.
More than 3,000 professionals from throughout the United States and more than 80 countries are attending the conference in person — the first large convention held in Baltimore since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, according to ASRM.
“We believe that there’s no better way to communicate the content of a scientific congress than face to face,” ASRM interim CEO Vickie Gamble said in a press release. “The ability to engage physicians, scientists and various other reproductive medicine advocates in structured didactic sessions, as well as with collaborative group interaction, allows the greatest amount of learning, sharing and growth to take place.”
The 276 oral and 803 poster presentations cover infertility risks and treatments, the impact of COVID-19 on pregnancy and infertility treatments, trends in telehealth use and cardiovascular disease risks related to infertility, among other subjects.
“Our sessions will focus on a wide range of topics representing the broad scope of reproductive medicine,” ASRM president Hugh S. Taylor, MD, said in the release, noting that additional topics include personalized medicine, inequalities in reproductive health care and the use of artificial intelligence in the in vitro fertilization laboratory.
