DESTIN, Fla. — At the Clinical Congress of Rheumatology Annual Meeting, Christopher Ritchlin, MD, MPH, discusses immunobiologic advances which have shown new markers for the treatment of psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis. He said the combination of musculoskeletal ultrasound and cellular markers have identified which patients are at risk for psoriatic arthritis.

DESTIN, Fla. — At the Clinical Congress of Rheumatology Annual Meeting, Charles J. Malemud, PhD, spoke about the biological basis of osteoarthritis (OA). He said medications used to treat rheumatoid arthritis may be used to treat OA at the late and progressive stage to reduce progression.

Bathon, MD, discussed the effects of  rheumatoid arthritis (RA) therapies on cardiovascular disease.  She said rheumatologists need to aggressively manage RA to control the disease and therefore reduce cardiovascular disease.

DESTIN, Fla. — At the Clinical Congress of Rheumatology Annual Meeting, Robert D. Inman, MD, spoke about the current management of axial spondyloarthritis. He said one of the challenges is early diagnosis of axial spondyloarthritis.

Hoffman, MD, MS, MACR, professor emeritus at the Center for Vasculitis Care and Research, Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Lerner College of Medicine, presented emerging evidence on the prevention and treatment of relapsing vasculitis.
