Leonard Calabrese, DO, chief medical editor of Healio Rheumatology, offered a breakdown of the June issue, which is led by a cover story on pediatric rheumatology workforce shortage concerns.

“The first is another manpower issue in rheumatology,” Calabrese, who is the RJ Fasenmyer chair of clinical immunology at the Cleveland Clinic, said in this video. “And that is the fate of pediatric rheumatology, which is at a crossroads.”

The issue’s cover story includes contributions from key opinion leaders and pediatric rheumatology experts including Colleen Correll, MDRandall Q. Cron, MD, and Brett Smith, DO.

Moving beyond pediatric rheumatology, the issue also includes stories about Sjogren’s syndrome and the use of cannabis in rheumatology.

“There is an interesting take on Sjogren’s, which can masquerade as lots of things,” Calabrese said. “And finally, what about THC, cannabis and our patients?”
