In this video, Dana DiRenzo, MD, MHS, instructor of medicine at Johns Hopkins, highlighted two important studies presented at ACR 2020.

According to DiRenzo, one study found that hydroxychloroquine use was not associated with increased QTc elongation among patients with rheumatoid arthritis and lupus.

“I know I had many individual clinicians, like myself, worried in the setting of COVID when we were hearing a lot about QTc prolongation,” she said.

The other study explored how stimulating the vagus nerve may improve signs and symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis.
