Only a few short years since our inaugural issue in March 2016, Healio Rheumatology is still a relatively new publication, but one that is ever-evolving to meet the needs of the rheumatology community. Healio Rheumatology strives to be the definitive news source for rheumatologists, delivering timely, accurate and authoritative reports designed to inform you, educate you and hopefully entertain you all at the same time.

We like to say we are “peer tested” because each issue is vetted by our “go to” experts from our outstanding Peer Perspective Board. I have taken particular delight in crafting my monthly editorials and the feedback I have received has been terrific. During my travels and lecturing at local, regional, national and international meetings, I now routinely start with a show of hands of who is reading Healio Rheumatology and the endorsement speaks for itself — thank you!

Over the next year, we plan to increase our live coverage of the meetings that are important to all of us, including the American College of Rheumatology and EULAR, of course, but also meetings such as the Clinical Congress of Rheumatology, the ACR State of the Art Clinical Symposium as well as the Association of Women In Rheumatology and the Rheumatology Nurses Society meetings. In addition, we will also be covering the Cleveland Clinic’s Basic and Clinical Immunology for the Busy Clinician symposium and Biologic Therapies Summit.

I know it is nearly impossible to keep up with even a few of these excellent meetings so we hope that our coverage will help you identify the discussions you want to take a deeper dive into — or not. If you are planning a meeting and would be interested in contributing your own insight to our coverage, please contact us and we will gladly work with you to ensure your voice is included.

I would also like to give a shout-out to our Peer Perspective Board, which is exceptional, and I will tell you that it is my commitment to make its composition reflective of our entire community. Accordingly, we will be adding to our group of key opinion leaders, especially personnel who will bring our gender representation more in line with the current work force — that is a promise.

Finally, I am closing with a request to you: Please take a moment to contact me if you have suggestions for us. I guarantee I will always take this seriously. Are there topics we should focus on with our cover stories and roundtable format? Are there things you want to see more of? Less of? I am happy to engage you personally by e-mail at calabrl@ccf.org or on Twitter @LCalabreseDO.
