DESTIN, Fla. — During the annual North American Young Rheumatology Forum, rheumatology fellows had the opportunity to exchange feedback regarding their research not only with their own peers, but also with an experienced panel of acclaimed rheumatologists.

Associated with the annual Congress of Clinical Rheumatology, the forum provides a unique opportunity for trainees and first-year medical students to network with their peers, while their research efforts are evaluated by expert faculty in the field.

“We have the opportunity to listen to very nice oral presentations, but also see roughly 60 posters,” Gerd R. Burmester, MD, chairman of internal medicine and dermatology at the Charité Universitatsmedizin Berlin, as well as chairman of the forum, told Healio Rheumatology. “This is a really important event where fellows can present their work, and can discuss it with other fellows, but can also discuss it with an experienced panel.”
