DESTIN, Fla. — At the Congress of Clinical Rheumatology Annual Meeting, Iris Zink, MSN, RN, president of the Rheumatology Nurses Society, spoke about how the incidence of interstitial lung disease is on the rise, especially in men with aggressive rheumatoid arthritis, even though rheumatoid arthritis has become more well-controlled.

To better manage patients with rheumatoid arthritis and interstitial lung disease, Zink said there more pulmonary function studies, 6-minute walk tests for patients with connective tissue disease and monitoring with high-resolution CAT scans are needed.
