DESTIN, Fla. — At the Congress of Clinical Rheumatology Annual Meeting, John J. Cush, MD, from the Baylor Institute, spoke about how to treat difficult patients with rheumatoid arthritis.
For patients who are hard to manage, Cush said rheumatologists should manage the things most important to the patient. In addition, rheumatologists should emphasize their expertise, mention the use of the drug in thousands of people and discuss potential use of drugs that the patient may not be aware of, such as cyclosporine, anakinra, apremilast, cyclophosphamide and mycophenolate.
