NEW YORK — At the Interdisciplinary Autoimmune Summit, Rakesh Jain, MD, clinical professor of psychiatry at Texas Tech Health Sciences Center School of Medicine, and Saundra Jain, at the University of Texas School of Nursing, spoke about the similarities in symptoms between patients with rheumatologic disease and psychiatric illness and how to help patients.

To optimize outcomes in patients with rheumatologic illness, Rakesh Jain said physicians should focus on depression, sleep, anxiety and wellness. Jain and Jain created a 30-day tracking intervention that led to positive outcomes in patients.
