SLACK Incorporated, publisher of Healio.com, is set to expand its series of web-first news magazines delivering unique peer-tested content. Healio Rheumatology will compile the most-read content from Healio.com based on website metrics, and distribute it in a print news magazine reaching 6,100 U.S. physicians, including the universe of U.S. rheumatologists.

Leonard H. Calabrese

“The field of rheumatology is moving at a lightning pace. Healio Rheumatology is a unique, peer-tested resource that will help rheumatologists stay informed on the most relevant updates in basic translational and clinical rheumatology,” Leonard H. Calabrese, DO, Chief Medical Editor of Healio Rheumatology, and Vice Chairman of the Department of Rheumatic and Immunologic Diseases, Cleveland Clinic, stated in a press release. “As Chief Medical Editor, I look forward to helping rheumatologists keep up with these advances as well providing additional perspective to the current knowledge. I welcome your feedback and suggestions for the publication.”

Published monthly as of March 2016, the publication will feature the most popular content as reported by its website metrics and expanding its reach in print to the rheumatology profession. “Healio Rheumatology builds off the success of our first peer-tested publication, Healio Gastroenterology, launched in 2014,” Joan-Marie Stiglich, ELS, Chief Content Officer of SLACK Incorporated, the publisher of Healio Rheumatology, stated in the release. “In addition, our readership surveys tell us that 98% of physicians said they would read future issues of a publication in this format. Healio Rheumatology takes our best content that is trending online and delivers it in the engaging format of print. We have a large, fresh portfolio of great content, and print is a complementary way to present relevant, important news and information to the entire rheumatology health care community.”

The print news magazine will feature late-breaking reports from national and international congresses, as well as treatment and diagnostic updates, FDA developments, clinical resources and guidelines for care. Headlines from Healio.com’s “In the Journals” section, which features executive summaries and abstracts of research from the specialty’s peer-reviewed journals, also will be included.

A preview issue will be available to attendees of the 2015 American College of Rheumatology/ Association of Rheumatology Health Professionals Annual Meeting to be held Nov. 6-11 in San Francisco.
