Cincinnati Children's was named the top hospital for pediatric pulmonology and lung surgery in the 2024 to 2025 rankings by U.S. News & World Report.

According to U.S. News & World Report, Cincinnati Children’s topped the 18th annual Best Children’s Hospital rankings, which included 50 pediatric centers that provide pulmonary care.

Amin, MD, director of pulmonary medicine at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, told Healio. “I am happy that the team is nationally recognized. U.S. News & World Report is an important form of recognition.”

Scores were based on the success of each hospital with managing asthma, cystic fibrosis and muscular dystrophy, as well as performing lung transplants, according to the ranking webpage for this specialty.

“The division has fully integrated quality improvement and data management teams who focus on tracking and improving patient-specific outcomes of all patient populations served by the division,” Amin told Healio. “The multidisciplinary, holistic patient management that Cincinnati Children’s offers is a major contributing factor to our success.”

Cincinnati Children’s, Texas Children’s Hospital and Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia rounded out the top three of the pulmonology and lung surgery rankings. Further, Boston Children’s Hospital ranked fourth, and Nationwide Children’s Hospital ranked fifth.

Notably, each of the top five hospitals also made it on the Best Children’s Hospitals Honor Roll, demonstrating their high ranks in several specialties.
