Yale School of Medicine establishes cannabis, cannabinoids research center

Yale School of Medicine has established a research center to examine the association of cannabis and cannabinoids with neurodevelopment and mental health, the school announced in a press release.
Deepak Cyril D’Souza, MBBS, MD, Albert E. Kent Professor of Psychiatry at Yale School of Medicine, will lead the Yale Center for the Science of Cannabis and Cannabinoids.
John H. Krystal, MD, Robert L. McNeil Jr. Professor of Translational Research and Nancy J. Brown, MD, Jean and David W. Wallace Dean of Medicine and C.N.H. Long Professor of Internal Medicine, said in the release that the school’s research will “put Yale at the forefront of studies into [cannabis’] effects on human health.”
They added that “the new center will use a multipronged and multidisciplinary approach to study the acute and chronic effects of cannabis and cannabinoids.”
