VIDEO: Tobacco use ‘big issue’ for psychiatric patients

In a video interview with Healio, Lyons Hardy, MS, RN, P-MHNP, talked about the importance of addressing tobacco use disorder in psychiatric patients.

Hardy, clinical assistant professor and concentration lead of the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Program at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Nursing, said that several sessions at the American Psychiatric Nurses Association Annual Conference focused on tobacco use disorder, which is a “big issue” that is “less commonly discussed” than other substance use disorders.
