Recently published data demonstrated multiple factors, including muscle strength imbalances, muscle tightness and hip joint internal rotation constraints, likely influence enhanced lumbopelvic motion during a golfer’s swing. Researchers evaluated 30 handicap-matched male golfers from the Korean Professional Golf Association between January and March 2012. Participants were divided into cohorts based on whether they exhibited limited (range of motion < 20°) or normal hip internal motion (range of motion ≥ 30°). Tests for strength and length of muscle, range of motion and lumbopelvic kinematics were conducted on both cohorts.
