Top in women's health: Fertility advice for women with PCOS; type 2 diabetes in pregnancy

In the second part of an interview about nutrition for fertility, two experts discussed nutrition and other lifestyle considerations for women with polycystic ovary syndrome trying to conceive.

They also address what to do about advice to lose weight, highlighting that clinicians should avoid language that perpetuates weight bias and stigma.

“Not all women who are thin struggle with fertility and not all women with overweight or obesity do either,” Judy Simon, MS, RDN, CD, CHES, FAND, a registered dietitian nutritionist who specializes in reproductive health, told Susan Weiner, MS, RDN, CDN, CDCES, FADCES, owner of Susan Weiner Nutrition PLLC and Healio | Women’s Health & OB/GYN Nourish to Flourish column editor. “Medicine needs to stop conflating weight with health.”
