More than 200 leaders in primary care gathered during this year’s Primary Care Collaborative annual conference to talk about efforts to innovate the field.

The presentations focused on recommendations in the National Academy of Science, Engineering and Medicine’s report on implementing high-quality primary care through payment, access, workforce, technology and accountability.

Speaking to Healio, Primary Care Collaborative (PCC) President and CEO Ann Greiner discussed some of the highlights from the conference, specifically the diverse group of experts who discussed challenges and initiatives within the primary care field.

“It was really exciting to have these innovators present what they’re doing in the realm of payment, access, technology, workforce, [and] measurement, and to consider how policy might move those innovations and spread them across the country,” Greiner said.

Greiner also highlighted PCC’s “Better Health – Now” campaign, the progress of which she said was propelled thanks to the conference and workshops, “which will inform our work in 2023.”
