CHICAGO — In this video, Healio Primary Care Peer Perspective Board Member Alan Dow, MD, MSHA, FACP, reviews highlights from various presentations that he attended during the ACP Internal Medicine Meeting.

The presentations standout “in terms of thinking how I might take care of patients differently,” said Dow, who is the Ruth and Seymour Perlin Professor of Medicine and Health Administration at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia.

His key lessons learned were from presentations on atrial fibrillation, tapering of chronic opioids, pre-exposure prophylaxis for HIV, obesity as a hormonal disease and using food as medicine.
