Healio's vaccine-hesitancy discussion guide now available
Healio has launched a new resource that clinicians can use as a tool to guide conversations with patients who are hesitant to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.
“When it comes to vaccine hesitancy, physicians are the difference-makers because their patients trust them,” Joan-Marie Stiglich, ELS, chief content officer of Healio, said in a press release. “Our hope is that clinicians can use this as a tool to build confidence in their patients that COVID-19 vaccines are safe and effective.”

Building Confidence: A COVID-19 Vaccine Discussion Guide includes clear and accurate answers to common questions concerning the COVID-19 vaccines that are authorized in the U.S.
The initial edition of the guide addresses the contents of COVID-19 vaccines, including active and inactive ingredients as well as details concerning age-specific vaccine compositions.
Additional topics are forthcoming. They will address concerns related to blood clots, breakthrough infections and receiving a vaccine after a natural SARS-CoV-2 infection.
The resource was authored by Amit Sharma, MD, MPH, a clinical assistant professor at the Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine and an infectious disease associate at the Geisinger Community Medical Center; Nitesh Kumar Jain, MBBS, an assistant professor of medicine at the Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato, Minnesota; and Raghavendra Tirupathi, MD, FACP, FIDSA, FRCP, an infectious disease physician at Keystone Health.
