NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Healio Primary Care Today will offer comprehensive live coverage of the latest medical advances and data presented at the annual American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists Annual Clinical and Scientific Meeting, taking place from May 3 to May 6.

The conference, dubbed the “women’s health event of the year” by organizers, features film festivals and more than 70 clinical seminars on topics such as prenatal screening, polycystic ovary syndrome and contraception. In addition, nearly 800 posters providing the latest research in preconception counseling, postpartum depression, menopause and other areas will be presented.

Lisa Hollier, MD, MPH, outgoing ACOG president, will start the meeting by hosting a panel titled “Maternal mortality: Progress towards prevention.” The initiative was one of her top priorities as president, and one that she wrote in a recent blog partially led to the passing of the Preventing Maternal Deaths Act, which provides infrastructure and support for maternal mortality review committees at the state level.

Stay tuned to Healio Primary Care Today for the latest news and developments from the meeting. Our readers can also expect evening news wires featuring the conference’s top headlines. – by Janel Miller
