March 1 through 4, the 16th annual South Beach Symposium will offer “cutting edge” education to attendees on the latest treatments, technologies and procedures in clinical and aesthetic dermatology, pediatric dermatology and practice management topics, according to a press release.

More than 50 of the most influential leaders in dermatology and aesthetic dermatology will host panels, workshops, question and answer sessions, roundtable discussions and case presentations at the symposium. Among the thought leaders are Mark S. Nestor, MD, PhD, symposium chair and director of the Center for Cosmetic Enhancement and the Center for Clinical and Cosmetic Research, and planning committee members Brian Berman, MD, PhD, Michael H. Gold, MD, David J. Goldberg, MD, JD, Leon Kircik, MD, and Z. Paul Lorenc, MD.

The conference will offer live demonstration and training workshops covering new skills and techniques for minimally invasive aesthetic treatments with injectables and devices. A superficial radiation therapy for dermatology course will be offered at the start of the conference.

The Masters of Pediatric Dermatology Symposium, led by Lawrence Schachner, MD, professor of pediatrics and codirector of the division of pediatric dermatology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, will also be available to attend. One course will explore pediatric skin infections and rashes and provide an update on therapeutic options for pediatric atopic dermatitis.

“Futures Symposium: Innovations in Clinical and Aesthetic Dermatology” will also be featured during the event and will focus on novel products in the pipeline, several innovations approaching the market and methods to incorporate these products and treatments into clinical practice. Additionally, a panel will discuss the significance of innovation in dermatology and aesthetics during the conference.

The South Beach Symposium aims to provide attendees with means to translate current research and innovations in dermatology and aesthetics into successful treatment strategies. – by Alaina Tedesco
