AAFP Congress of Delegates elect new officers

ORLANDO, Fla. – The American Academy of Family Physicians elected as their president-elect Michael Munger, MD.
Munger, of Overland Park, Kan., has chaired or served on many AAFP commissions and committees including those on education, conference planning and public health and science.
Others elected on the final day of the Congress of Delegates are:
Speaker of the Congress: Javette Orgain, MD, MPH, the third female speaker
Vice Speaker: Alan Schwartzstein, MD
Directors: Robert Raspa, MD; Leonard Reeves, MD; and Ada Stewart, MD
New Physician Board Member: Matthew Burke, MD
Resident Board Member: Stewart Decker, MD
Student Board Member: Lauren Abdul-Majeed, MD
Family Medicine Experience (FMX) is the AAFP’s annual meeting, and begins on Sept. 21.
John S. Meigs Jr., MD, the incoming AAFP President, will address the congress attendees on Sept. 22 during the General Session.
