CMS has extended the deadline to attest to meaningful use of electronic health records for 2015, according to an email from the agency.

Providers in the Medicare & Medicaid EHR Incentive Programs can now attest until March 11. The original deadline had been set as Feb. 29.

Providers in the Medicare EHR Incentive Program can attest via the CMS Registration and Attestation System, according to CMS. Providers in the Medicaid EHR Incentive Program "should refer to their respective states for attestation information and deadlines."

As detailed in the email, professionals must attest to meaningful use of EHRs for a continuous 90 days from Jan. 1, 2015, to Dec. 31, 2015. Hospitals and critical access hospitals must attest to meaningful use of EHRs for a continuous 90 days from Oct. 1, 2014, to Dec. 31, 2015.
