A 34-week-old boy with skin lesions
A boy, gestational aged 34 weeks and 4 days, was born at an outlying hospital and transferred to the neonatal intensive care unit for evaluation of extensive skin lesions noted at delivery. The lesions were described as numerous blisters, large bullae and extensive areas of scarred skin on the trunk, anterior chest, back and extremities. Several lesions were hemorrhagic and weeping in appearance.

A 15-year-old Hispanic female presented to the clinic with a ‘bump’ on her nose that had been draining pus for three days.
Incidence of CA-MRSA increasing among neonates
Community-associated methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus infections are being seen with increasing frequency among previously healthy infants aged younger than 30 days, according to a recent study.
