Key takeaways:

  • PAS expecting largest turnout since 2018.
  • The meeting will feature more abstracts than any previous program.

HONOLULU — More than 8,500 physicians are attending PAS 2025 — the largest turnout at the annual pediatrics conference since 2018, according to program chair Daniel Rauch, MD, FAAP, SFHM.

“This marks a significant increase compared to recent years and reflects a strong resurgence in interest and engagement,” Rauch, a professor of pediatrics at Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine in New Jersey, told Healio.

The conference, which is hosted by the AAP, the American Pediatric Society (PAS), the Society for Pediatric Research and the Academic Pediatrics Association, takes place April 25-28 in Honolulu.

Abstracts and presentations will cover a vast array of topics, but Rauch said some of the most notable ones delve into vaccines, respiratory syncytial virus, opioids, firearms, obesity and AI.

“Thanks to all of the contributions, PAS 2025 will feature more abstracts than ever before, making this our most robust and diverse program to date,” he said.

Rauch encourages first-time attendees to learn about the latest advancements in pediatric medicine and build relationships with other pediatric providers.

“Whether they are presenting research, exploring future career paths or seeking mentorship, PAS provides an unmatched environment for professional growth — and doing it all in a world-class location like Hawaii is just the cherry on top,” he said.
