NEW YORK — In this video from the Infectious Diseases in Children Symposium, David W. Kimberlin, MD, provides an overview of the topics that were added to the 2024-2027 Red Book published earlier this year.

Some updates to the Red Book included new pneumococcal vaccines for children and RSV immunization options such as nirsevimab and the maternal vaccine.

“This is all in addition to some communication about Red Book online and the power of that particular platform ... as a way to get information into the hands of providers so they can use it as they take care of their patients in their offices,” said Kimberlin, who is co-director of the division of pediatric infectious diseases at The University of Alabama at Birmingham and Children’s of Alabama.
