The Infectious Diseases in Children Symposium will shift from an in-person to a virtual format for 2020, organizer Healio LIVE announced.

The meeting will still be held Nov. 21-22 and will offer CME/CNE credits, faculty discussions, live Q&As and a virtual exhibit hall.

Registration is open online at IDCnewyork.com. Physicians can register for $325, and nurses and residents can register at a discounted rate of $125.

“Our program committee put together a phenomenal group of speakers and topics for this year’s meeting,” program director David W. Kimberlin, MD, said in a statement. “While it’s clear we cannot gather in person this fall, we are moving forward with an outstanding online platform to bring the content directly into your homes and workplaces. Our main focus remains providing key updates and perspective on important pediatric infectious disease topics combined with thought-provoking interactive sessions.”

The virtual meeting will feature the same faculty who were selected to speak at the in-person meeting, and attendees will be able to ask questions during the live faculty Q&A, organizers said. Physicians can earn AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s), and nurses can earn CNE contact hours.

Pre-registrants will be converted from in-person to virtual attendees and refunded the difference of the registration fees, organizers said. Checks will be mailed once registrants call to confirm the mailing address that is on file.

Registrants who reserved a room through the meeting’s official room block will automatically have their reservations canceled. No deposits had been taken yet, so no action is required by the attendee.

Attendees are urged to contact their airline, train or other transportation platform directly for travel cancelations.
