Results from this study demonstrated superior outcomes with the addition of Schroth physiotherapeutic scoliosis-specific exercises to the standard of care vs. the standard of care alone for patients with adolescent idiopathic scoliosis.

Better outcomes seen with submuscular plating vs IM nailing for pediatric femur fractures
Investigators found faster times to union and full weight-bearing and a low complication rate for pediatric patients with diaphyseal femur fractures treated with submuscular plating compared with patients treated with either flexible or rigid intramedullary nails.
A 7-year-old girl with right elbow pain
A healthy 7-year-old, right-hand dominant girl who sustained a right elbow injury 1 year prior presented to our office. She was seen immediately following the injury at an outside hospital emergency department where she was diagnosed with an ulnar shaft fracture and placed into a splint (Figure 1). She followed up with an outside institution’s orthopedic surgeon who treated her injury with close monitoring in a cast.

A 4-year-old boy with persistent L-hip pain, subluxation following closed reduction of hip dislocation
A 4-year-old healthy boy sustained a traumatic dislocation of his left hip from falling off his bed the previous evening. He initially presented to an outside hospital with his left leg flexed and internally rotated. He had full motor and sensory functions and denied any numbness, but had pain overlying his left buttock. Soft compartments and intact pedal pulses were noted on presentation.
Study: Chronic exertional compartment syndrome recurrence more common with anterior, lateral release only
Recently published results showed 18.8% of patients experienced recurrent chronic exertional compartment syndrome, which more commonly occurred in pediatric patients who underwent anterior and lateral release only.
