Early findings support central acetabular decompression for central acetabular osteophytes
Investigators found favorable early outcomes for patients with central acetabular osteophytes who underwent central acetabular decompression during hip arthroscopy.
Hip arthroscopy study finds greater chondromalacia index for cyclists vs non-cyclists

Study identifies incidence of subsequent shoulder surgery following SLAP repair
Investigators of this study with a minimum follow-up of 3 years found 10.1% of patients required subsequent surgery after isolated SLAP repair.
Revision hip arthroscopy linked with lower outcome scores than primary arthroscopy
Recently published results showed significant improvements in outcome scores for patients who underwent revision hip arthroscopy. However, the outcome scores were lower compared with patients who underwent primary hip arthroscopy.
Transosseous tunneling offers cost-effective fixation method for arthroscopic cuff repair
Transosseous repair of shoulder tendons offers a cost-effective, biologically advantageous, biomechanically sound and clinically effective fixation method for facilitating the healing of tendons to bone. As a result, it has been considered the gold standard of cuff repair for decades. During the last few decades, anchor-based repairs have become popular due to the ease-of-use, high-initial fixation strength and ability to apply fixation points arthroscopically.
Hip arthroscopy improved function in older patients with intra-articular hip pain
Patients 65 years of age and older with intra-articular hip pain who failed nonoperative treatment experienced a modest improvement in function, high-patient satisfaction and high survivorship following hip arthroscopy, according to study results.
A 17-year-old male patient with left midfoot pain
A 17-year-old male patient who experienced ongoing left foot pain was presented to the office. He reported his symptoms began in 2013 while playing soccer, but denied any acute injury or trauma. He was initially seen by an outside provider and radiographs did not show any abnormality. Thus, the patient was given a home-exercise program and shoe inserts. The patient experienced persistent midfoot pain and discomfort during the next 2 years.
Study finds similar adverse event rates with arthroscopic Laterjet compared with open Laterjet
Investigators of this study found the adverse event rate was insignificant following arthroscopic Laterjet for anterior shoulder instability, with rates similar to those found with open Laterjet.
Primary hip arthroscopy had greater improvements in outcomes vs revision arthroscopy
While patient-reported outcomes, pain and satisfaction scores significantly improved after hip arthroscopy, primary arthroscopic surgery had higher outcome scores and a trend toward greater improvement in pain scores compared with revision arthroscopy, according to results.
