VIDEO: Full autonomy is key to providing highest level of care
KOLOA, Hawaii — In this video from Orthopedics Today Hawaii, Anthony A. Romeo, MD, discusses private equity and the various employment models for orthopedic surgeons in 2025.
“The highest level of care that you can provide is when you have full autonomy on the patient experience,” Romeo, program director for Orthopedics Today Hawaii, told Healio. “That means where they come, where they get their X-rays, where they get their MRI, where they go to surgery and where they do their postoperative rehabilitation.”
He added, “If that is going to be your goal, then you need to draw on that entrepreneurial spirit. You need to figure out a way to grow your ancillaries and grow your group, and you can be competitive and successful in the private practice world.”
