KOLOA, Hawaii — In this video from Orthopedics Today Hawaii, Christopher S. Ahmad, MD, spoke about modifying Tommy John surgery to treat athletes such as javelin throwers, football players, gymnasts and wrestlers.
“Despite the mechanism of injury, we have an opportunity to help them and get them back to their sport,” Ahmad said. “It’s using features of Tommy John surgery for baseball players and modifying and adapting those surgeries specifically to their sport demands.”
