Scott is a practicing sports medicine physician at the Women’s Sports Medicine Center at Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) and the head team physician for the New York Knicks.

“I am honored and thrilled to take on this new role,” Scott said in the release. “Our primary sports medicine service is renowned worldwide for its expertise, innovation and superior care. I look forward to building upon the team’s already exceptional foundation.”

According to the release, Scott earned her medical degree from the University of Nevada School of Medicine. She completed her residency in family medicine at the University of Washington and her fellowship in primary care sports medicine at the University of Arizona.
In previous roles, Scott served as team physician for USA Track and Field, and as associate chief medical diversity officer at HSS.

In her new role, which takes effect Dec. 1, Scott will oversee 25 providers across 14 locations, according to the release.

“Scott’s steadfast commitment to her patients and the population at large will be an asset to her role as chief,” Bryan T. Kelly, MD, MBA, president and CEO at HSS, said in the release. “We are excited to see how the department flourishes under her leadership.”
