PHILADELPHIA — In this video from the American Society of Anesthesiologists Annual Meeting, Rutva A. Vora, BASc, discusses a pilot study that analyzed the impact of time from ED to OR on surgical outcomes in patients with hip fractures.

“Overall, there was a positive relationship between door-to-OR time and average length of stay,” Vora, a fourth-year medical student at the Florida State University College of Medicine, told Healio. “That is why we concluded that timely surgical intervention improves outcomes, specifically length of stay, for our patients.”
